This weebly has presented information exploring the benefits and concerns of smart boards in classrooms. After reviewing all of this information and the results of the polls below we have concluded that smart boards themselves do not improve a learning environment but in conjunction with effective pedagogies they have the potential to create a much more engaging learning environment for students.
Participants in the polls conducted prior to the launch of this event indicated that they felt smart boards had the potential to withstand the advancement of technology and to create a more interactive and effective learning environment.
Tornabene (1998) suggested that "a balanced presentation style combined with a variety of design and delivery are still considered most effective." This supports our conclusion that smart boards used with effective pedagogical practices could produce a highly effective learning environment.
